What's the current lead time for dispatch of dolls?
We can guarantee UK Christmas delivery for orders placed before 1st December. After this date we will work through everything chronologically and hope to get everything out in good time for the 25th
Orders are hand crafted to order and are currently dispatched within 1-2 weeks. If you are ordering for a special occasion, please let us know and we will try our very best to accommodate timings
What's the difference between Heirloom, Keepsake dolls and Loveys?
All Thicket & Thimble dolls are lovingly designed and hand crafted in the English countryside, using noble and hand dyed fibres
The Heirloom collection features hand embroidered dolls, each one a limited edition of 100 with a numbered letterpress tag and glitter printed dust bag. This collection is for decorative use only and stands are available to help display your doll
Keepsake is a little sister collection to Heirloom and features smaller dolls, perfectly designed for play. Original water colour paintings of the signature Thicket & Thimble doll features are printed onto natural linen and hand crafted into a beautiful doll with a Keepsake letterpress round tag
The Keepsake collection also includes an even smaller range of dolls called Loveys as well as an interiors collection
UK Delivery
UK delivery starts at £1.50 and increases depending on the size and weight of the box required using the Royal Mail first class signed for service
Once your order is shipped you'll receive an e-mail confirming the tracking information, where you can check on it's progress to you
International Delivery
We use Royal Mail for our International delivery service and they hand the item to the national mail equivalent in your country for delivery
We use this service to ship to most countries, but there are some exceptions so please get in touch if you are unsure
Any customs charges or taxes on arrival in the destination country are the responsibility of the customer
Most deliveries arrive within 10 working days but also bear in mind that the customs process can add significant time to your overall shipping time and this is out of our control
How are Thicket & Thimble dolls made?
Each doll is lovingly designed and created by hand in the studio in Kent, England
Are Thicket & Thimble dolls like mass produced toys?
Not here! Because each doll is made by hand, every one is totally individual. We also use torn and ripped edges to our garments to embrace a faded grandeur aesthetic
Can Thicket & Thimble dolls be played with
Our Keepsake collection has been CE tested and is suitable for gentle play for ages 3 and up
The Heirloom collection dolls are considered art dolls, for decorative use only and should not be played with due to small parts and long ties. Each doll features a soft, sewn in tag stating ‘DECORATIVE USE ONLY’ and bespoke stands are available to help display your doll
What size are the dolls?
The Heirloom dolls measure approx 45cm from the feet to the top of the head (not including the ears). The swan, goose and peacock measure 35cm from head to base and the owl and hedgehog 24cm
The Keepsake dolls are 37cm (not including the ears) and the Keepsake swan is 32cm
Loveys measure approx 27cm (not including the ears)
Can I visit Thicket & Thimble?
We are online only and do not have a physical business presence for customers. Check out our home page for a current list of stockists
What are Thicket & Thimble dolls made from?
The Heirloom collection is made using Irish linen and hand embroidered, 100% wool European felt appliqué on the face, hands and feet. The wool felt ears are hand sewn and each doll is stuffed with hypo-allergenic stuffing and completed with a soft organic cotton tag. Every doll's garments are unique, often made using vintage and hand dyed materials and always made in limited numbers
The Keepsake collection features original water colour paintings of the signature Thicket & Thimble details with trompe-l'oeil stitching detail printed onto natural linen. The 100% wool felt ears are hand sewn and each doll is stuffed with hypo-allergenic stuffing and completed with a soft organic cotton tag
All the dolls are designed, printed and made in Kent, England
The outfit design I like is listed in a different animal, can I change the animal?
Yes, we can usually accommodate these changes, simply get in touch
How are Thicket & Thimble dolls packaged?
The Heirloom collection arrives in a postal box, beautifully packaged with a white cotton glitter dust bag and the round letterpress tag features the limited number of your doll

Gift boxes, greetings cards, doll stands, gift sets, gift cards and hand embroidered monograms are also available
N.B we can't guarantee dust bags for International orders when trying to limit parcel weight
Are the clothes removable?
The Keepsake doll garments are removable and the Heirloom and Lovey dolls are not
Do Thicket & Thimble dolls 'sit'?
The Heirloom dolls are standing style and whilst the legs do bend, they look their best when standing. The Keepsake dolls are 'rag doll' style and do sit
An item says 'sold out', will you be restocking?
Each Thicket & Thimble doll is totally unique and once they're gone, they're gone! However we do restock with new designs frequently - sign up for the newsletter & follow us on instagram and facebook for updates on new releases and restocks! Are all the dolls the same?
The dolls are handmade so there are slight variations and each one is unique. We also on occasion need to use alternative trims and finishes to those pictured
Are the dolls in-stock or made-to-order?
Most of the Heirloom dolls are made-to-order and the Keepsake dolls we usually hold a small stock of
Will the colours be the same as the photos on the website?
Different screens and monitors show colours slightly differently. Some of the hand dyed details on the dolls might vary slightly due to variations in the dying process
How do I care for my new friend?
When your doll arrives after a long journey you might wish to separate any layers on the skirt. Thicket & Thimble dolls are not washable but can be spot cleaned with a gentle detergent and warm water
We recommend displaying the dolls out of direct sunlight as this can fade the colours over time
